The prime objective of the Association is to promote and encourage the establishment of new derivative and related markets, to support their development and to organize international conferences in order to promote communication between member organizations, to strengthen their relationship and to transfer information and experience among them. Membership is purposely open to a wide variety of market participants to assure broad perspectives in the participation and as a result exchanges, clearing houses, traders as well as other participants in the industry have joined and support AFM. The AFM website gives access to standardised information on member organizations updated on an annual basis. In the Library section there are numerous educational and other background material related to derivatives trading. AFM conferences are held in different places each year.
